Rebecca Thomas Events is a custom event planning company located in St. Michaels, Maryland. RTE proudly produces celebrations throughout the Eastern Shore with the philosophy of offering all types of planning services tailored to accommodate each client’s style and tastes. We specialize in crafting thoughtfully designed and impeccably executed special events, with expertise in wedding planning. Clients are guided through the planning process with expert advice, imaginative vision and a friendly smile at every turn, making planning the event as enjoyable and memorable as the event itself.
It all started with a love of people and celebrations. Rebecca has over 15 years of experience in the special event and hospitality industry. She was able to fine-tune her skills while working in the industry in Napa, La Jolla, Seattle and Boston. Most recently in Boston, Rebecca worked at an award-winning catering company managing off-premise events and as an event planner for their exclusive venue where she was recognized for her creativity, dedication to detail and ease in working with clients.

"I was confident that I didn’t need a planner. I am wildly organized, detail-oriented and have plenty of experience managing large projects (in fact my now husband referenced my OCD-like organization in his wedding vows!), plus, I thought this was a great place to try to save a little money in the oh-so-expensive wedding planning process, right? I simply had no understanding of the warp-speed at which the night would pass and how much pressure it would relieve to know that we had Rebecca by our side, executing all of the details we had discussed and managing the hiccups that inevitably arise! From the first moment we spoke to Rebecca, I was at ease- she has years of experience and as we talked through our thoughts for the ceremony and reception on the first phone call, it was clear she wanted the day to be perfect for us, valued the vision we had and was able to use her expertise to suggest a few tweaks that made the day run more smoothly! Rebecca was also a saint dealing with a hostile employee at our venue and some eccentric family members! She made it clear from the first call that she was here to make my now husband and I feel supported and to advocate for what we wanted. She was amazing. She made it a point to get to know both of our families by name and was able to keep everyone in the loop, alerting us when the big events were upcoming so everyone was prepared and onsite, adjusting the schedule as needed when we were having so much fun and wanted a few more minutes and ensuring that all of the vendors were coordinated seamlessly. At one point in the evening, we realized that the candy that had been purchased for the ice cream truck had been delivered to the after party location off-site- Rebecca offered to go, but we told her we’d feel so much better if she stayed with us, so she let the ice cream truck vendor borrow her car to pick up the supplies he needed! That’s incredible, and what’s even more amazing is we didn’t even know that happened until after the wedding- she didn’t want us to worry about anything, so she just took care of it so we could enjoy the reception!
